Cops nab PKR’s Rafizi for allegedly exposing bank details related to NFC scandal August 1, 2012Posted by ibrahimbaba in Ketelusan.
KUALA LUMPUR: PKR director of strategy Rafizi Ramli was arrested by police on Wednesday morning for his alleged involvement in exposing banking details related to the National Feedlot Corporation (NFC) scandal.
“I am now arrested under the Banking and Financial Insitutions Act (Bafia) and believe I am being taken to the Shah Alam Court to be charged,” he tweeted.
He said that police had gone to his house at about 7am.
Rafizi was investigated for contravening Bafia by releasing the banking details of the National Feedlot Corporation, owned by the then-Women Family and Community Development Minister Datuk Seri Shahrizat Abdul Jalil’s husband Datuk Seri Mohamad Salleh Ismail and her children.
Bank Negara’s investigation against Rafizi comes after NFC chairperson Mohamad Salleh’s police complaint against him for 21 breaches for revealing private and confidential banking details that are protected under Part XIII of Bafia on secrecy and information.
When contacted, NFC declined to comment.
